Kay Ikpeme School nurse

Dr. Nicky Goddard |
Meet our Medical Staff
I'm Kay Ikpeme, the ‘School Nurse’ and based at the Vale of Evesham School. I am responsible for the assessment and implementation of the care needs for all the pupils within the school, and provide support and advice to the children, parents/carers and teaching staff, relating to any health issues. This is a very general description of my role within the school so I have tried to break it down a little bit:
- Oversee administration of medication
- Management of clinical procedures such as gastrostomy feeds, emergency medication
- Involved with medical assessements, ‘Team around the child’ meetings
- Liase with other health professionals involved with the children such as: physiotherapist, occuapational therapist, audiologists, dentists, psychologists
- Administration of school vaccinations
- Offer weekly ‘Drop In’ clinic for any of the children who have a worry/problem or would just like somebody to ‘talk to’
- We are also fortunate to have our own school doctor, her name is Dr. Nicky Goddard and she has a weekly clinic every Thursday afternoon, when we invite parents/carers to discuss any health concerns and monitor the child’s development.
- I can be contacted at the school, and will always try to offer advice or support to parents and carers, and when I can’t help I usually know a person who can!
